Play the Balaans game from The Bad Batch with this original deck design!

This is stylised card deck design for the game of Balaans introduced in The Bad Batch. After extended rules development and testing by Mike Corry, our version of this game is ready to publish!

The GOTG deck uses the tarot-sized format of the cards, while simplifying the artwork with bold utilitarian art and colours that foreground the card types and game mechanics, allowing players to grasp the fundamentals. This paves the way for others to create fully illustrated cards and editions like the ones seen in the show!

Balaans as seen in The Bad Batch episode 'A Different Approach'

Each Balaans set consists of 60 cards split into red and black player decks of 30 cards each. Each player deck includes 15 'Power' Cards and 15 'Destiny' Cards. The 15 Power Cards come in values of 1 to 5 (x3 of each Power level) and feature 'Untapped' and 'Tapped corner signs, allowing cards to be flipped to show when they have been used to power a Destiny card.

The Destiny cards consists of 2 Deflect, 2 Steal, 2 Truce, 3 Buff, 3 Block and 3 Destroy cards. Each card has a unique sigil to identify it for use in Card Combos. The deck includes 2 extra cards listing the Destiny card names and the special Card Combo attacks.

3D Printable Deck Box

You can order the Balaans Card Deck with a rigid art box, or you can order a plain carton and download the STL to 3D print a custom deck box. The files support single and dual-colour printing.

PRODUCTION

Proceeds from these decks are mostly absorbed by Make Playing Cards, with a small percentage going to the maintenance of Games of the Galaxy and the Holocard Cantina App.
